My tribe,

my story

I so wish this “get to know you” conversation could happen over coffee, so that I could learn about you. But since you’re here, grab a cup of coffee and let me introduce myself. You know my name, since it’s the website you’re on. I have spent over 27 years serving in the church in a variety of ministry roles… hard to believe it’s been that long!

I love the local church. I love helping leaders in the local church. I have spent a majority of my time leading in the areas of WORSHIP and MUSIC, SERVICE PROGRAMMING and PRODUCTION, and CHURCH LEADERSHIP. Those are all caps because they are the lanes where I have spent the most time and have learned so much. This blog site is a leadership journal or a repository of many of the lessons I have learned along the way. I realized several years ago that I have never documented the things I’ve acquired, and I hope that by writing and sharing these, that we’d have the chance to learn from each other.

I currently live and have spent the last 20 years in Wilmington, NC (about 3 miles from the Atlantic Ocean) and prior to that, I spent a few decades living just outside Atlanta, GA.

I have an incredible family, a love for the outdoors, a secret love for the state of Colorado, and I’m a 5wing 4 on the Enneagram. I have served as a worship leader, worship pastor, student pastor, church planter, building & set designer, construction manager and a short stint in high school at Chick-fil-A… all of which were providential appointments and amazing learning opportunities!

Enough about me… let’s talk about you.

This is my tribe… my family… at one of our favorite spots, Bald Head Island. They’re all looking really cool, because they are, and I’m looking sorta dorky, because, well…
